On 12th January 2013 , we will be celebrating the 150th birth a n n i v e r s a r y o f S w a m i Vivekananda. Swamji’s birthday is celebrated as National Youth Day Rabindranath Tagore once said “If you want to know Bharat, study Vivekananda.” Lets us look at a few teachings from Swamiji’s life - Be proud of who you areWe are the inheritors of the greatest civilization ever. Swamiji said “It has been one of the principles of my life not to be ashamed of my ancestors. I am the proudest man ever born on account of my ancestry. 

The more I have studied the past , the more pride has come to me and it has given me the strength and courage of conviction” Believe in yourself Swamiji used to say that you cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself and whatever you believe , that you will be. All power is within us , we can do anything and everything. Believe in yourself before believing in anything else. In the history of the world, you will find that only those nations w h i c h h av e b e l i e v e d i n themselves have become great. Be Strong , Be Fearless.

Fear is the root cause of all evil. Swamiji said “This I have seen i n l i f e — t hose who are overcautious about themselves fall into dangers at every step; those who are afraid of losing honor and respect, get only disgrace; and those who are always afraid of loss, always lose.”
