Mandal Kho : (See video link below)
This khel is a variation of popular game Kho-Kho when space available isn't much.
Children are squatting in a circle with alternate children facing in-wards and outwards as shown in the video. There is one catcher and one runner who are other than children sitting in circle. The runner can run anywhere inside and outside the circle. The catcher will try to catch the runner while giving Kho to sitting children. The Catch has to be give Kho by tapping on the back of the sitting children and shouting Kho. The child receiving the Kho will become the catcher and the child giving the Kho will sit in receiving child's place in the same position (facing in-ward or outward). There are restrictions for catchers : those facing inward can run only inside the circle and so can give Kho to only those who are facing outside the circle since their back would be facing inward to the circle. Similarly those facing outward can run only outside the circle and so can give Kho to only those who are facing inside the circle since their back would be facing outward to the circle.
The game continues until the runner is caught.
The Shikshaks/Shikshika has to ensure that Kho is given quickly so that runner gets tired and there are multiple children becoming catcher in quick succession. This is a very good game to teach children strategy and quick thinking.
