KHEL

Khel or Games are very important for the overall development of children. Along with studies you should also spend your time in regular outdoor activities. Khel keeps you physically and mentally strong. In Bharat we play a lot of traditional khel like Kabaddi,Goli, Ghilli-danda, patang, laghori, antakshari, nadi-pahad etc. These games have a rich cultural value and were tools of passing on ancestral knowledge.

They also sharpened our observational and math skills.Traditional khel are not just games, they are designed in such a way that one can develop skills like logical thinking, building strategy, concentration, basic mathematics, aiming, and more. These games act as learning aids. They teach us many things while playing - learn to win and lose, build team spirit, develop sensory skills, count, addition, improve motor skills, improve hand-eye co-ordination and finally to have fun.

Traditional khel like Snakes and Ladders also teach children moral values. Ladders represent the result of good deeds and snakes represent vices. The game is won when good deeds exceed vices. Traditional khel are environment friendly and we don't need much accessories to play them. They are simple and economic and we just need a little open place to play. We also get a chance to learn about our culture and history. Many khel are suitable for all ages, so they increase the interaction between generations. Many modern games such as chess have their origin in Bharat. Let us take pledge that we will continue to keep the culture of playing traditional khel alive.
